Floating restaurant Paris, France
The restaurant has been designed for a location on the river Seine close to the Notre Dame in Paris. The floor, walls and roof of the building form an ongoing line around it's main function, the restaurant. From the offices and kitchen you have a fantastic view from just above the water level.
Because of the high quay next to the building, the roof, "the fifth facade", is an important part of the design. It consist of a thoroughly designed green roof with a void that forms a connection with the vegetation of the restaurant terrace.
For the facade cladding Corian is used. This material has the ability to be shaped smoothly so it will seamlessly follow the exact shape of the building . The waterside of the building is as transparent as possible with a big glass facade.
